Heritage Hardwoods is completing a $1.6 million expansion to its production facility in Jeffersonville, IN. Heritage also plans to add 14 employees to its current staff. The announcement was first reported in April 2013 in a press release distributed by One Southern Indiana.

The other three businesses announcing expansions included Accentf(x), Steel Dynamics, and Sellersburg Heating and Air Conditioning Inc.

“Whenever businesses with local roots decide to remain and grow in Clark and Floyd counties, it signals their strong commitment to the people and the community we share,” said Wendy Dant Chesser, president and CEO of 1si, in the release. “It’s encouraging these firms have expressed such confidence in the success of their present and future operations here. These projects exemplify the importance of working to retain and assist our existing businesses, which is just as essential as attracting new businesses to Southern Indiana.”

“It’s a great day for the city of Jeffersonville,” Jeffersonville Mayor Mike Moore was quoted as saying in the release. “The news that solid, successful companies like these want to stay here and grow with our city is fantastic.”

“As president of the Clark County Council, I’m thrilled when I hear a local business is increasing its investment in our county through expansion and growth,” Council President Barb Hollis was quoted as saying in the release.
